Jacket Everyday™ Project

Thursday, April 21, 2016

In an effort to distract myself from the sad news of the day, I came across the Jacket Everyday™ project. What a clever idea! The Ottowa Based Art Director, Steve St. Pierre asks people to submit the title of their life story and then he designs a book jacket cover to match the title. Here are some of my favorites:

Beautiful Succulent Embroidery

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

In the past, I have dabbled in cross-stitch, even finding some really fun/funky pattern sellers on Etsy. I must admit that I can only appreciate the beauty that is embroidery! One Artist that has caught my eye lately is Sarah K. Benning. Take a look at her work, it is beautiful, and of course features succulents! Notcot has a great little post about her too… with even more photos.

When Life Gives you Lemons, Preserve them!

Monday, March 28, 2016

After taking the Moroccan Cooking class at the Baltimore Chef Shop, Aaron and I decided to make our own preserved lemons, which were a key ingredient in some of the dishes we made. The Chef Shop has a great step by step guide here, but here are a few a few pics we took while making our own. We used Meyer Lemons, which are said to be sweeter, I’ll report back in 6 weeks as to the success of this endeavor.

My Succulent Obsession Continues…

Friday, April 17, 2015

Yay, we finally made it through the Baltimore winter of 2015… Sometimes it felt like it would never end. For some people that means running to their local nursery to buy plants for their gardens. Well I am getting more into gardening, however my first love will always be succulents, and today is wonderful because I found a new blog that celebrates them! Needles + Leaves is a beautifully designed blog that highlights all things succulent and succulent craft related, plus it actually has a clean simple design. Hooray! Here are some of the beautiful pictures from the blog, enjoy! diy-burlap-bunting-thanksgiving-home-decor-succulent-succulents-needlesandleaves_net
